The preservation and enhancement of agriculture has been a driving force behind the planning work of Dodson & Flinker for many years. With productive farmland increasingly threatened, siting and designing new development away from agricultural resources has gained increasing urgency. Working closely with private non-profit land conservation groups, government agencies and private landowners and developers, Dodson & Flinker has developed innovative techniques siting compact new development that creates large districts of preserved farmland. Working closely with farmers, the firm has also developed site plans for improvements to farm stands and agricultural facilities. And in collaboration with private non-profit land trusts, Dodson & Flinker has combined farmland conservation with carefully sited limited development that finances the protection of agricultural and environmental resources.
