Affordable Housing

Affordable housing and land conservation have been at the core of Dodson & Flinker’s work since the founding of the firm in 1986. One of the firm’s first projects, Loomis Farm, preserved 180 acres of working farmland financed by 9 carefully sited limited development lots, two of which were affordable. The lessons learned on this project were described in Combining Affordable Housing with Land Conservation published by the Massachusetts Office of Communities and Development. Dodson & Flinker has gone on to complete numerous successful open space development projects incorporating these principles. Clients include affordable housing groups, conservation organizations and private developers working under affordable housing statutes such the Chapter 40B program in Massachusetts.
