Greenways
Regional patchworks of vegetated parks, greenways, and protected open space are a vital form of public infrastructure, providing habitat and migration routes, flood protection, cleaner air, and cleaner water. Changing climate and accelerating development of the landscape underscore the importance of planning and managing this green infrastructure at a regional scale. One important area of Dodson & Flinker’s regional planning work involves working with local and state governments to prioritize areas and to create corridors important for regional ecological health and to propose methods to protect these regional assets.
