Dodson & Flinker completed the site masterplan for the transformation of a 750,000 s.f. mill complex in North Adams, Massachusetts into what has become one of the largest contemporary art museums in New England. The planning project included assisting the client in the development of a comprehensive masterplan for the reuse of 21 buildings, facade renovations, design for open space areas, traffic and ciruculation plans, parking and the restoration of the Hoosac River, which flows through the complex. MassMoca opened in 1994 and is currently planning further expansion based on the masterplan.
