Dodson & Flinker assisted Horsley Witten Group with a new zoning bylaw for the Route 28 corridor in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. Existing development patterns include hotels, restaurants, box stores and entertainment venues spread along the strip with ample parking and difficult pedestrian access. Residential neighborhoods surround the strip. A proposed development prompted the town to consider a new zoning bylaw that would increase density and promote an active, pedestrian-oriented streetscape. Our visualization work helped residents understand buildout scenarios under the proposed zoning and contributed to the passage of the new bylaw with a strong majority at an October 2012 Town Meeting.
