Dodson & Flinker is collaborating with T2 Architecture on the design of a library and community center for the town of Upton, MA. The new building will provide needed community gathering space in the heart of Upton’s center, adjacent to the town’s playground and ballfields. This project builds off of a village center plan that Dodson & Flinker completed in 2019.
Upton’s library is currently located in the nearby historic Knowlton-Risteen building, which has insufficient space for desired programming and is not fully accessible. Dodson & Flinker’s has explored the development of two potential sites in town. Both designs would include an outdoor terrace with a stone retaining wall overlooking Center Brook, as well as native gardens and additional street trees.
