Dodson & Flinker was responsible for all site planning and design issues for this new 12,000 s.f. classroom building designed by Margo Jones Architects on the main campus of the Bement School, a private elementary day school in Deerfield, Massachusetts. This challenging project successfully located a large new classroom building at the edge of the school’s historic campus while protecting nearby wetlands and playing fields. Dodson & Flinker handled site permitting for the project including a wetlands permit and a complex parking permit process with the town. The project included grading, drainage, erosion control, stormwater management, planting, seeding, access, parking, walkways, exterior lighting and signage. A grove of mature trees was carefully preserved during the construction process. Dodson & Flinker prepared construction documents and conducted site observation during construction.
