Construction is underway for a new bath house and lifeguard building on Swansea, MA’s Town Beach, part of a beachfront revitalization project that Dodson & Flinker worked on with Stephen Kelleher Architects. The master plan was accepted by the Town in October of 2014, and several elements have already been implemented, including beach nourishment, dune grass plantings, and a pocket park on Bay Street. D&F worked with SKA and The Town to prepare construction documents for this latest phase, which broke ground in the fall of 2018. The site design for this building also includes an access road that the Town will use for regular beach nourishment via a “feeder beach” that works with natural longshore currents to distribute sand along the beach.
