Helena Farrell holds a Masters in Landscape Architecture and a BA in Cultural Geography and Sustainable Human Habitat from the University of Massachusetts. Helena’s expertise includes identifying nature-based solutions for mitigating natural hazards and building resilience to climate change, facilitating group events and processes, collaborating with community leaders and consulting partners, communicating risk, and visualizing design alternatives. She has taught at UMass Amherst and been an invited lecturer and studio guest critic at UMass, Harvard, Yale, and Smith College. More than 15 years of experience has prepared Helena to merge regenerative land management and conservation practices with climate resilient planning and design so that every site and community is increasingly prepared for the future. In 2025, Helena became a licensed commercial drone pilot and now conducts the aerial photography and video for Dodson & Flinker’s projects.
