Northampton’s City Council adopted innovative zoning to allow two-family houses by-right throughout the City. Dodson & Flinker supported the City’s efforts by drafting the zoning, providing code graphics, documenting the historic patterns of two-family houses throughout the City, and holding a focus group with local architects and developers. The new zoning will expand housing opportunities–a key step toward addressing regional racial and economic inequities. It also implements an action in the City’s Climate Resilience and Regeneration Plan.
