Jack joined Dodson & Flinker as an Associate Planner in fall 2021. His background as a middle school teacher in western Massachusetts and New York City informs his interest in collaborative decision-making to address community goals for housing, economic development, and access to green space. He is excited by hands-on tools and the use of scenarios and stories to facilitate discussion and integrate lived experiences with technical planning expertise. His Masters of Regional Planning at UMass Amherst focused on mapping tree plantings in Massachusetts cities to identify demographic trends in the urban forest.
Jack grew up in eastern Massachusetts and attended Deep Springs College and Brown University, where he received a BA in Comparative Literature. His time living in the Southwest has nurtured long-term interests in Spanish, cooking with peppers, soccer, pastel painting, and landscapes. He is excited to see a busy village center in action from Dodson & Flinker’s Florence office.
